The Travel & Leisure Committee works with a
number of other senior groups in the north country to plan
outings, trips and events for its members. Because
of that, it is quite important that you make
arrangements/reservations as early as possible so that
you won't be closed out of the event.

Plans
for 2025
|
Sometime in May or early June ... Waterfall hiking excursion |
Before anyone gets nervous about this being a
hiking excursion, they are "hikes for the
non-hiker"! The longest one will be less than
1/4 mile round-trip and most have roadside
views. We will start with a private waterfall
containing at least six distinct drops just
south of Watertown and then will head into Lewis
County for several stops. Full details will be
posted sometime in early spring and will be
announced at the spring scholarship luncheon.
As usual, we
will be having lunch somewhere along the route.
The cost of this will be each participant's
responsibility. Of course, in what has become a
tradition, we will close out our trip with a
stop at a local ice cream stand. Contact David Schryver at
315-486-1408 or
davidjschryver@gmail.com for more information or to
sign up.
NOTE ... This event is a carpool type of thing.
It is somewhat weather dependent, so these trips
have been known to be postponed but will not be
cancelled. Reservations will be taken right up
to the day of the event. |
Saturday, October 11 ... Bonnie and
Clyde |
This is a bus trip to the REV
Theater/Merry-Go-Round Theater in Auburn.
We will be seeing a 2 PM matinee of Bonnie and
Clyde and then having dinner at Lasca's
Restaurant. This is an event that is
planned in conjunction with other local senior
groups. Our members have participated in
these in the past and these performances are
always well received.
At this point, the cost of the trip has not been
finalized but in the past, they have always been
considered a bargain. Full details will be
posted as soon as they are available. You
cost will include the bus transportation, the
show admission and the meal.
For those unfamiliar, Lasca's is a family run,
Italian restaurant. Dinner is usually
served family style and will include a number of
options. It will not disappoint. |
Other items being discussed ... |
- A casino trip to Akwesasne Casino in
Hogansburg
- A boat trip on ths St. Lawrence
|
Details on these will be posted when available |
