The North Central Zone (NCZ) of the Retired Educators of New York (RENY) and the Northern New York Community Foundation (NNYCF) are very pleased to announce that once again we are offering scholarships for high school seniors who are planning on entering into a field of education.

Any current high school senior attending school in Jefferson or Lewis County who plans on attending college in the fall of 2026 majoring in a field of education should follow the following steps. 

• Go on-line to the Northern New York Community Foundation website ... www.nnycf.org

• Click on the tab labeled "Students"

• Then click on "Scholarships Available"

• Click on "For Scholarships List" ... Blue colored banner

• Scroll down until you reach "North Central Zone NY State Retired Teachers Association, Inc.

• You will find the application form and instruction sheet here ... you can then print off a copy of the material

We also urge you to contact your high school guidance counselor for more information.  Counselors at all high schools in these two counties have received information about this scholarship.

Hudson-Kramer Memorial Grant

The Hudson-Kramer Memorial Grant is offered by the North Central Zone of the Retired Educators of New York every other year.  Teachers and administrators in any Jefferson or Lewis County school district are eligible to apply. The successful applicant will receive $2,000.00 for a project they may want to pursue during the 2026-2027 school year but otherwise could not afford.

Administrators and Guidance Counselors throughout our two county region have been sent information and application forms to be provided to teachers in their districts.  Our hope is that teachers will take advantage of this opportunity to provide innovative programs in support of your students.
