The North Central Zone (NCZ) of the Retired Educators of New York (RENY) and the Northern New York Community Foundation (NNYCF) are very pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Scholarship for High School Seniors.

Cohen Hunter lives in Watertown and attends General Brown Central High School.  He is the son of Jennifer Dean and step-son of David Dean.  He plans on attending SUNY Brockport in the fall majoring in Secondary Mathematics.

Ronald Zehr is the son of Sarah and Gregory Zehr of Henderson.  He attends Belleville-Henderson Central School and plans to attend SUNY Potsdam in the fall, majoring in Secondary Social Studies.

Hudson-Kramer Memorial Grant

The Hudson-Kramer Memorial Grant is offered by the North Central Zone of the Retired Educators of New York every other year.  Teachers and administrators in any Jefferson or Lewis County school district are eligible to apply. The successful applicant will receive $2,000.00 for a project they may want to pursue during the 2026-2027 school year but otherwise could not afford.

Administrators and Guidance Counselors throughout our two county region have been sent information and application forms to be provided to teachers in their districts.  Our hope is that teachers will take advantage of this opportunity to provide innovative programs in support of your students.
