This very active committee carries out some extremely important work in support of our communities.  Two long-time projects are the primary focus of their efforts.
Coats For Kids
2024 Coats for KidsOrganized and carried out every fall in Lewis County. This committee collects donations of money, new coats, boots, snow pants, hats and mittens for needy children throughout the year. During the winter of 2023-'24, they supplied 66 new coats, 20 pairs of boots, 5 pairs of snow pants and numerous sets of hats and mittens. Our membership is very generous with their support. School districts, churches, social services and other groups in Lewis County may contact the co-chairs with requests by emailing communityservice@renyncz.org.

This picture shows 40 pairs of boots, eight coats and 28 hats are on their way to Adirondack Central School.  The total this fall so far is 52 coats, 53 pairs of boots and three snow pants.

This program helps many children in our Lewis County schools.

Love Your Public Library
This project is led by Patricia Dietrich. At our NCZ luncheons Pat sells raffle tickets where members can write the name of their favorite public library. A drawing is made and that library receives a $50 gift to spend any way they wish. Usually two $50 awards are given from each luncheon. The small public libraries in Jefferson and Lewis Counties appreciate these unexpected gifts.
