The Travel & Leisure Committee works with at least
two other senior groups in the north country to plan
outings, trips and events for its members. Because
of that, it is quite important that you make
arrangements/reservations as early as possible so that
you won't be closed out of the event.

Plans
for 2024
|
Sometime in May or early June ... a waterfall
hiking excursion Before anyone gets
nervous about this being a hiking excursion, they are
"hikes for the non-hiker"! The longest one will be
less than 1/4 mile round-trip and most have roadside views.
We will start with Great Falls in the city of
Watertown. From there we will stop at a
private waterfall just outside the city.
Totman Gulf in the town of Lorraine and Monitor
Mill Falls in Ellisburg will complete our route
in the southern part of the county. After
a lunch break, we will head to the town of
Clayton to view Buttermilk Creek Falls, Catfish
Falls and Sperrys Falls. Our day will
round out with a stop at Gillette Creek Falls. This will be a fairly
informal car-pool trip. We will leave around 9 AM.
The cost will be $20 for riders/non-drivers. We
will also be having lunch somewhere along the route.
The cost of this will be each participant's
responsibility. Contact David Schryver at
315-486-1408 or
davidjschryver@gmail.com for more information or to
sign up.

Information on excursions planned by other
senior groups that we work with will be posted
as soon as that becomes available.

NOTE: Over the past two summers, we
planned boat cruises of the 1000 Islands.
Since no interest was generated for either of
those, we have no plans at that time to include
this in our schedule. |
