We are a unique part of the RENY
organization. Our committee members are
dedicated to reaching out to the membership,
especially those more senior members, by sending
cards, making phone calls, visiting and even
giving gifts for special occasions. Our
North Central Zone covers a large and often
remote area making it difficult to maintain
social connections. Friendly Service volunteers help with that. Never
underestimate the power of a simple "I'm
thinking of you" or "is there anything you
need?" card or call.
I am grateful for the 11 Key Workers who make
the lives of our retirees a little bit brighter.
They are listed on the panel at the left.
The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy,
announced in the spring of 2023, that loneliness
and social isolation have become a crisis in our
country. Our Friendly Service Committee
prides ourselves in doing our part to combat
this.
