The North Central Zone of the Retired Educators
of New York (RENY) and the Northern New York
Community Foundation (NNYCF) are pleased to
announce the winners of our 2024 scholarship.
Olivia F. Adsit |
Spencer J. Purvis |
Olivia is
the daughter of
Andrea and David Adsit from Redwood.
She attends Alexandria Central High
School and plans on attending SUNY Cortland,
majoring in Secondary Education/Science |
Spencer
is the son of Christine
and Travis Purvis of Adams. He is
a student at South Jefferson Central High School.
He plans on attending SUNY Cortland, majoring
in Physical Education |
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to
all who have donated to our scholarship fund and
to those who have purchased chances for our
annual raffle. All have helped our
scholarship fund to grow and award the two $1000
scholarships.

2024
Hudson-Kramer Grant Recipient |
The
recipient of the 2024 Hudson-Kramer
Grant Award For Educational
Professionals is Michael Commet from the
South Lewis Central School District.
The $1,000
Grant is offered every two years by our
North Central Zone to assist full time
educators with an innovative program or
project. It may be used for a variety of
purposes such as to enhance student
improvement, behavior, or self-esteem.
The
offering will once again be made for the
North Central Zone in 2026. Applications
for the grant will be sent out to school
districts covered by our zone in January
